Day 1: Kuala Lumpur- Beijing

Shall this blog be my travel blog where I will share stories when I was in Beijing, China (while I can still hardly recall every detail) for an internship which had become one of the experiences I treasure most in my life.

It was 1st day of June in 2011, yet to be the hottest period of summer in Beijing, according to my buddy, Ruyue.

For the first time fly to other country alone, kinda excited actually. So it took 6 hours from A to B. I arrived in Tianjin Binhai Airport at 2:30p.m.. After picking up my luggage, I found the bus ticket counter right after I walked out from the airport.
on the shuttle bus to Tianjin railway station. bus ticket for 10RMB.
the station, and my sleepy face.
took the next train to Beijing. 58RMB.
The guy at the counter asked for my identity card when I purchased the ticket, I showed him my passport, he was shocked, guess he didn't expect me as a 'foreigner'. ps: real identification document is required upon the purchase of C, D and G class train (城际,动车,高铁 respectively)ticket to avoid illegal re-sale, as you can see my passport number was displayed below the ticket.

Ruyue picked me up at Beijing station and brought me to the company I'm going to work in by subway.

Ruyue and I in front of the Bird Nest. No doubt I was so happy to be there not long after I reached Beijing, despite the long hours on plane/bus/train/subway. Called baba to tell him I had reached safely. 'I'm calling from in front of the Bird Nest and Water Cube!' (just to make him jealous), yes he sounded more excited than me. :p

The office was just within walking distance from the Olympic stadium. We were welcomed by my colleagues Xiaoxia and Mr. Zhang. Xiaoxia is a phD graduate from Peking University, a very friendly person. My very first meal in China was Jiaozi, to be honest I didn't really enjoy it as I lost my appetite after such a long journey in empty stomach.

This is my comfy room. I was lucky enough to be provided with free accommodation like this, as some of my friends who went exchange like me had to stay in hostel or rent a small room. The room was quite spacious, it was actually a storage room of an artist, if you can notice there are some wrapped woods placed beside the table those were his drawings.

So that's my first day in China. :)
